Matrice is an armchair designed around the footprint created by the interaction between two materials, one ductile and the other soft. It is a steel corset that compresses a velvet fleece, an organic form compressed by a wire mesh. We try to give the seat a feeling of comfort, both visually and in use. The upholstery is flipped over, exposing the corset structure that gently compresses the seat and back to give it an organic geometry.
